EV charging for businesses, landlords and car parks
Whether you need a single charger for staff use or a multi-point installation for a commercial car park, we plan and install commercial EV charging that suits the scale and layout of your premises.
Commercial EV charger installation from an OZEV-approved local electrician
Providing EV charging at your premises is increasingly expected by staff, customers and tenants. As electric vehicle ownership continues to grow across Darlington and Teesside, having charging in place is becoming a practical necessity rather than a perk.
As an OZEV-approved installer, we can also help eligible businesses apply for the Workplace Charging Scheme — a government grant that contributes towards the cost of installing charge points at your premises.
We work with businesses to plan an installation that fits the layout of their site, the number of vehicles they need to support, and the capacity of their electrical supply.
Who we install commercial EV chargers for
Landlords & Property
EV charging points for rental properties, apartment blocks and managed car parks. An increasingly sought-after amenity for tenants with electric vehicles.
Offices & Workplaces
Chargers for staff parking bays, enabling employees to charge during the working day. Eligible businesses can apply for the Workplace Charging Scheme grant.
Fleet Operators
Depot or yard charging for small business fleets. Overnight charging of electric vans and fleet cars ready for the next working day.
Hotels & Hospitality
Charging points for guest parking — a growing expectation for hotel guests and visitors arriving in electric vehicles.
7kW single-phase — the standard choice for most commercial sites
For most commercial properties, a 7kW Type 2 charger is the right starting point. It uses single-phase supply (the standard supply type at most premises) and charges a typical electric vehicle at around 25–30 miles of range per hour.
These units are available as single or dual-socket, making them efficient for car parks where two bays can be served from one installation point. Smart charging features allow usage logging, access control and scheduling.
- Single and dual-socket options available
- Works on standard single-phase supply
- Smart management and access control
- Suitable for most commercial properties
22kW three-phase — faster charging for higher-demand sites
If your premises already has a three-phase electrical supply, a 22kW charger offers significantly faster charging — roughly three times faster than a 7kW unit. This makes it a good choice for car parks with high turnover, fleet depots or any site where vehicles need to charge quickly.
We'll assess whether your current electrical supply can support 22kW chargers, and advise on any supply upgrades or load management systems that may be needed.
- Up to 3× faster than 7kW single-phase
- Requires three-phase electrical supply
- Ideal for high-turnover car parks and fleet depots
- Load management available for multiple units
Multi-point installations with load management
Installing several chargers at once raises questions about electrical capacity. Load management systems distribute available power intelligently across multiple chargers, ensuring all vehicles charge without overloading the site's supply.
For larger installations, we'll carry out a site survey to assess your current electrical supply, advise on the number of chargers your supply can support, and plan the cabling routes and distribution board connections needed for a tidy, compliant installation.
- Site survey included for multi-point installations
- Load management to maximise charger count
- Clean cabling routes and trunking
- Full certification and compliance documentation
Commercial EV charging installed neatly and to a high standard
Whether it's a single charger for a small car park or a bank of charge points for a larger site, every installation is carried out with clean cabling, proper protection and a finish that looks considered rather than bolted on.
We work with businesses across Darlington and Teesside to deliver commercial EV installations that are practical, compliant and built to last.
- Tidy cabling and trunking throughout
- Clearly labelled circuits and distribution connections
- Fully certified and notified on completion
- Aftercare and support available

Commercial EV charger installation — frequently asked questions
What is the Workplace Charging Scheme?
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is an OZEV government grant that supports eligible businesses, charities and public sector organisations with the cost of installing EV charge points. It covers up to 75% of the purchase and installation cost per socket, capped at £350 per socket, for up to 40 sockets per applicant. As an OZEV-approved installer, we can handle the application as part of your installation.
How much does commercial EV charger installation cost?
Commercial EV charger installation costs vary depending on the number of chargers, cabling distance, supply capacity and whether any electrical upgrades are needed. A single 7kW workplace charger typically starts from around £600–£900 fitted. Multi-point installations require a site survey before we can provide an accurate quote. Contact us and we'll arrange a free assessment.
Do I need three-phase supply for commercial chargers?
Not necessarily. 7kW chargers work on standard single-phase supply, which most commercial premises already have. 22kW chargers require three-phase supply — if your premises doesn't currently have this, we can advise on whether upgrading your supply is worthwhile for your use case.
Can you install multiple EV chargers at once?
Yes. We install multi-point commercial EV charging with load management systems that distribute available power across all chargers. This allows you to install more chargers than your raw supply capacity might suggest, by managing how power is shared between them. We carry out a site survey to plan the right setup for your premises.
Do you install commercial EV chargers across Teesside?
Yes — we carry out commercial EV charger installation across Darlington, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Newton Aycliffe, Hartlepool, Bishop Auckland and the wider North East. We're based in Darlington and cover the full Teesside area for commercial electrical work.
Is EV charging a planning requirement for new commercial builds?
Since 2022, Building Regulations in England require new commercial buildings with associated parking to have EV charging infrastructure installed. If you're involved in a new build or major renovation, speak to us early in the process so charging can be properly planned and integrated into the electrical installation.
